Guideline for Abstract submission
 
(Deadline for submission of abstracts: TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2008)
(Notification of Acceptance/Rejection: No later than August 15, 2008)

The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for presentation at the 13th Asian Research Symposium in Rhinology (ARSR), Bangkok. Please read the guideline for abstract submission carefully before submission of the abstract.  

Method of submission

Abstracts can be submitted online or printed in the abstract submission form and sent by e-mail to : rhinologicso@gmail.com. Please follow the guideline:  

Guidelines for Submission

Authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guideline:

1. The abstract length should not exceed 250 words. Written in Tahoma, and 18 cpi letters fully justified.

2. The title of the abstract must be typed in UPPER CASE letter and should fully reflect the content of the abstract body.

3. Authors' names should be typed in sentence case, on minuscule and capital letters, the last name preceding the first name's initial.

4. Presenting author’s name has to be underlined in bold.

5. The structured abstract should be followed as informative as possible (use the abstract submission form):

6. Standard abbreviations may be used in the abstract. Insert special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full wording at the first time it appears in the body of the text.

7. Tables and diagrams can also be used, as long as they are not beyond the prescribed text margins and all texts not exceed 250 words.

8. Abstracts must be submitted in English.

9. References, credits or the authors’ academic degrees or grant support are not to be included in the abstract.

10. The abstract title and body text should only include pharmacopeia names printed in lower case. Trade names are not allowed. Non-proprietary (generic) names of drugs, written in lower case, are required the first time a drug is mentioned in the text.

11. It is inadequate to state “The results will be discussed” or “The data will be presented”.

General information for Abstracts

1. Abstracts submitted after July 15th, 2008 will not be accepted.

2. Abstracts are accepted on the condition that the presenting author has paid the registration fee. The registration fee is refundable if the abstract is not accepted.
The presenting author of an accepted abstract is allowed to register with the early registration fee until August 15, 2008.

3. The Scientific Committee of the Congress will send the notification of acceptance/rejection via e-mail by August 15, 2008 (contact the secretariat if notification was not received by then). The corresponding author will receive all correspondence concerning the abstract. All abstract presenters will be asked to reconfirm their attendance after receiving the notification.

4. It is the author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author.

5. If there are too many spelling / grammar errors, we will send your abstract back for correction.

6. The selection of abstracts will be based on scientific quality and novelty of paper either in basic or applied/clinical research.

7. Accepted abstracts will be published on a CD-ROM and/or Abstract Book.

Abstract topics will be divided into basic and applied research. Each type of research is categorized into 12 items. Each abstract must be categorized into one type of research and one item.
